Apart from looking good, the AL26 is a GSM handset that is available in two triband variations: 850/1800/1900 and 900/1800/1900. The device will provide the user with up to 5 hours of talk time or 9 days of standby time and measures 87mm x 46mm x 19mm (3.4″ x 1.8″ x 0.7″) - all in a package weighing just 79g (2.8oz). Additionally, the Hello Kitty slider comes with a user friendly 4 way d-pad and 2 softkeys that make it easy when composing or sending a text message to a friend. With the device’s 65k TFT 130×130 pixel screen, the user can view SMS and MMS messages, or easily browse the web.

The specifications are a little basic - the BenQ-Siemens AL26 has a 130×130 pixel display, but no camera, Bluetooth or MP3 player. It does comes with GPRS, a WAP 1.2 browser and Java support though, so it will meet most people’s basic needs.

It’s a very lightweight phone, at just 78 grams. Despite this, the BenQ-Siemens AL26 has a pretty good battery life giving a maximum of 5 hours talktime and 9 days standby.
